Program participants in current program year: 100 children and their families
To provide child care for children ages 3 4, and 5 years whose parents/caregivers work and/or live in the Enterprise Zone community. Other families may qualify.
Children between the ages of 3 and 5 years participate in a variety of activities that promote health growth and development. Learning opportunities are provided to assist in mental, social, emotional and physical growth. Staff recognizes and supports the philosophy of parents as the first teacher and parents are welcome to participate in classroom and other activities.
What the program can/cannot do:
Program provides meals and other supportive services to children and may provide health screenings.
Program cannot provide extended supervision for children after scheduled hours of operation.
Parents/caregivers are expected to pick up children or be at home when transported by Head Start bus.
Program can serve children with special needs.
Who is eligible:
Children ages 3, 4, and 5 years whose parents live and/or work in the Enterprise Zone community. Other children may be eligible and should contact staff at the Enterprise Zone.
Information/documentation required for application:
Households begin the application process by completing a Pre-application available at the Enterprise Zone site or CAPE Parent Place. Households will be contacted when space becomes available and will be instructed regarding required documentation which includes proof of income.
